FAQs

Do I need to mix any of the colours myself?

Nope! Every colour in your set is ready to use straight away, no mixing required. If you want to have a go at adjusting shades yourself, you can add the warm white and cool white mixers and experiment to your hearts content, but you absolutely don't have to do this. The set works beautifully exactly as it is.

How are the colours chosen?

Honestly, it's a really careful process. Every colour in a Plinky Paints set is hand picked, not just because it's a nice colour on its own, but because of how it works alongside everything else in the set. We think about the mood of the palette, how the shaes relate to each other, and what it's actually going to feel like to use. Nothing is in there by accident.

What can I use the paints on?

Acrylic is one of the most versatile paints out there, which is part of why we love it. You can use it on almost any porous/semi-porous surface which includes paper, canvas, wood... but the list goes on. If in doubt, have a quick Google of the item/surface in question before starting

Are the colours ready to use?

Yep, just open the box, pick up a brush, and go. No prep, no mixing, no figuring anything out first. They're ready when you are.

Will the colours in a set always work together?

Always, that's the whole reason they're in the same set. Every single combination was considered before the palette was finalised, so you can reach for any two colours knowing they're going to look beautiful together. No accidents, no clashes, no "hmm that's not quite right". Just colours that were made to belong together.

I've never painted before, is this for me?

You are exactly who we had in mind when building Plinky Paints! You don't need any experience, any colour knowledge, or any idea what you're doing. The bit that trips most beginners up is figuring out which colours to buy and whether they'll work together, so we've handled this for you.
